2019 NSW State Trap Carnival Report

This year the NSW State Executives tried quite a few new things.

With the introduction of the very first Gala Dinner on the first day of competition, this gave everyone a chance to socialise in a formal setting. We had a great turn out with around 300 people in attendance. With entertainment from Elliot Goblet and our very own member Jason Owen with his cousin Matthew Young on guitar everyone in attendance was amused for many hours. The food was great, the atmosphere spectacular.

A new program of order in which the carnival was run was also trialled and appeared to run quite well considering the numbers we had for the weekend. We had over 330 shooters attend over the 4 day shoot which is quite impressive considering the decline in numbers over the last few years. It helped that the weather gods looked down upon us and gave us a glorious weekend of sunshine, although I’m sure the shooters in the Double Barrel Shoot off on Sunday afternoon would disagree, the wind had picked up quite sever at this stage (But at least it wasn’t raining).

I would like to thank all of our sponsors: Winchester Australia, Perazzi, J & A Geotech Testing Pty Ltd, Clay & Hunt/Zoli Competition, Beretta Australia, Victoria Hotel, Hunts Shooting Supplies, Farmers Home Hotel, Rules Club Wagga Wagga, McDonalds, Bronzewing Ammunition/Laporte, Casella Wines & Camilleri Custom Stocks.

Also thanks go out to our executives that spared their time over the weekend assisting with the smooth running of the carnival on both an administration and on the field capacity. Therese Nealon needs a huge pat on the back for her assistance with the Gala Dinner and help in the office over the entire carnival.
